Last week was a little bumpy for me trying to get through the course work, Today was so much better. I went into triple shot and of course I ran into more problems trying to code. But unlike last week where I was stuck that wasn’t the case for today. I am still finding a few things challenging to get through but I wouldn’t consider it a blocker. I made sure to recap what I did last week because even though it was only a small portion, I did forget how I coded in enemy spawn but now I refreshed my knowledge.

The company has yet to find out if the programs funding will be extended after this month. I’ve been looking at other jobs since the announcement of the programs funding. It’s a bit sad after found out about the possibility of the program being cut. I’m happy and very thankful for all I have learned from this program. I plan to keep improving my knowledge of video game designing with this course that we have lifetime access to. I’ve learned a lot about keeping all my projects even if they’re not complete. Going through this course work has also gave me other ideas on coding and setting up my own unique way to code.

When working in the tri shot section of the course work I had a couple issues I ran into but the one that gave me the most trouble was trying to blend the shot from the ship out towards the enemy. I just couldn’t figure how to align it correctly. It keeps looking like it lags from when fire button is pressed to the laser leaving the space ship. I actually remembered that one of my group members had this exact same problem and just like that problem solved. I’ve also had some ideas that I may want to try for my future games. Now I just need to learn how to implement the actions I want to happen.

I’m so glad that I got to work with such great people that’re on the same level as I am with video game designing. Having the daily meetings really help especially when you get nervous and don’t want to ask some questions. I also was warned about watching the small mistakes that I may miss. This was thanks to a teammate of mine. He eventually ended up having to just go over his coding and found small inconsistencies. After all the coding he saved constantly and he figured out a solution. I’ve learned a lot not only from the course work but from my teammates as well. I hope we get extended.
